The Blacklist: Getting into the 3rd season and this series still manages to remain interesting and intelligently written. Reminds me of The X-Files, the 90’s version of the La Femme Nikita TV series, and even the first season of Hannibal. James Spader is fantastic as is the cast in general. Much better than similar modern clandestine/mystery themed shows such as ‘Blindspot’.

LEGION: Just finished the series and this was great! The whole series is a lean 27 episodes over three seasons and got better with each season. Experimental, bold, and pleasantly confusing. Very loosely connected to the X-Men universe and creepy as hell. Guaranteed to be massively better than the upcoming New Mutants film. Aubrey Plaza is her usual over-the-top fun.

The Expanse: Just a few episodes into the first season but I’m not really feeling it. Reminds of ‘Babylon 5’ with much more modern special effects and not as soap-opera-y. I’ll probably at least finish out the first season.

Battlestar Galactica (modern): Re-watching and even better than the first time through. I’m following a podcast through the series hosted by Tricia Helfer and Marc Bernardin.

Angie Tribeca: I’m into the 4th season of this series starring Rashida Jones. The show is in the same vein as ‘The Naked Gun/Police Squad’ and ‘Sledge Hammer’. A highlight of the series is guest appearances by Chris Pine playing a Hannibal Lecter like character while spoofing Silence of the Lambs.

“Birds of Prey” and “Sonic”: These were fun enough to watch but I won’t remember them by the end of the year. March looks like a more promising month for movies I’m interested in.

Valerian: Impressive visuals but targeted more to a younger crowd. I might re-watch a 3D copy as the special effects seemed really flat.
